PRP and mesotherapy in aesthetic medicine module
PRP is an abbreviation for Platelet Rich Plasma and stands for blood rich in thrombocytes and growth factors. It is used in aesthetic medicine to treat the skin and the scalp. Although PRP therapy belongs to the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, it has a wide range of applications and PRP therapy can be found in almost all branches of medicine. Due to their exceptional regenerative, reparative and rejuvenation effect, PRP treatments represent a step forward in regenerative and aesthetic medicine. PRP treatments are also the safest and most natural treatments used for a variety of conditions, including photodamage to the skin, hair loss, accelerated healing of wounds and scars, and as an anti-aging treatment.
PRP, among other positive effects, also works by:
- Activates fibroblasts
- Stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin
- Reduces wrinkles
- Promotes skin microcirculation and skin healing
- Reduces hair loss and stimulates hair growth
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical medical procedure in which extremely small amounts of active substances are injected into the skin or under the skin. These can be different medications, such as anaesthetics or corticosteroids. In aesthetic medicine, for mesotherapy, we use hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids that stimulate fibroblasts to create new collagen and new connective tissue, stimulate microcirculation and skin immunity, hydrate and reduce wrinkles.
